1. Job Overview
The Indian Army has released the official notification for the 66th Short Service Commission (Technical) for Men. This course will commence in April 2026 at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai. Engineering graduates who are unmarried and meet eligibility criteria can apply online from 24 July to 22 August 2025.

11. Educational Qualification
Candidates must have passed or be in the final year of their BE/B.Tech degree in the notified engineering disciplines. Final year candidates must produce their degree and mark sheets by 01 April 2026.
12. Engineering Streams Eligible
Major streams include:
- Civil Engineering
- Computer Science / IT / AI & ML / Data Science
- Electrical / Electronics / Communication / Instrumentation
- Mechanical / Automobile / Production / Industrial
- Other special streams: Biotechnology, Plastic Tech, Remote Sensing, Avionics, etc.

- Shortlisting based on engineering percentage
- SSB Interview (5 Days)
- Medical Examination
- Final Merit List
14. Salary / Pay Scale
- During Training: ₹56,100/- per month
- After Commission:
- Lieutenant: ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500
- Captain: ₹61,300 – ₹1,93,900
- Major and higher ranks as per 7th CPC
15. Physical Standards (Minimum)
- 2.4 KM Run in 10 min 30 sec
- 40 Push-ups, 6 Pull-ups
- 30 Sit-ups, Squats & Lunges
- Basic Swimming knowledge required
16. Tenure and Promotion
The initial tenure is for 10 years (extendable to 14 years). Promotions are performance-based and include the possibility of Permanent Commission (PC) based on eligibility and availability.
